Milwaukee Art Museum is Pretty Sexy

At least Victoria's Secret thought so. The recently named Sexiest Building recently played host to director Michael Bay and his Victoria's Secret commercial. Having been to the museum I quickly recognized the unique architecture. I had to rewind it a couple times to confirm what I thought was the location (really, that is the only reason I watched it again) and a quick Google search was the ultimate confirmation.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is a very interesting building. From its Brise Soleil opening and closing based on the amount of sun to the interior architecture (and, oh yeah, the art too) the museum is a very cool experience. I recommend checking it out as it is a short drive for those of you who live in Chicago.

Here's the Victoria's Secret Ad. It is as safe for work as any lingerie commercial can be.

Sexy Fruits [NSFW]

This very sensual, very NSFW ad comes from our friends over in France. Rules about nudity are rather relaxed in many parts of Europe. There is nothing exceptional about this ad except that there is gratuitous nudity and as Americans we aren't used to this. Oh, and it is pretty hot.

Obsessed With the Right Things – Breast Cancer Foundation [NSFW]

This link (while they ads are technically art, they are probably NSFW) contains some great ads for what I would call putting breast cancer into perspective. The images are reminiscent of a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition circa 2004 when they started painting suits (also NSFW) on the models as opposed to having them actually wear them.

Essentially they images are saying who cares about these things (the size of your butt, your hair, or a pimple) when there are so many things worse in life. Be happy with the good things in life and not consumed by those that ultimately don't matter.

One of the commenters of the original post asks the question "Do women like this?" He (I'm assuming) automatically assumes that a) no they don't and b) all those involved must have been men. I'm not sure you can jump to either of those conclusions, but it does beg the question of whether or not the message lost.

Only Shown Once – Bic [NSFW]

Bic Pens really gets the point across with this one….

This TV commercial for Bic Pens, which I will call "Only Shown Once" gets its point across in a pretty funny way: flashing the contact info of a supermodel all over the screen. Punch line is the kicker

Interesting Product Placement

I love the soundtrack for this spot:

Okay, I admit, I like the visuals as well. The audio is great though; I wasn’t joking about that. I found this over at the ADFREAK blog and thought their interpretation of what was going on was interesting.

They essentially said that this may be a new type of  advertising in which it is essentially product placement, but on a different level. By this I mean Michael Bay has chosen to (agreed to? was paid to?) cast Rosie Huntington-Whitely in the Transformers 3 movie. This is interesting because she has no acting experience, just a lot of looking hot experience (which she does well).

I find it interesting that Victoria’s Secret decided to do a congratulations highlight reel, but as ADFREAK points out it may be to further the product placement. Either way the spot is enjoyable, I will see Transformers 3, and probably continue to buy Victoria’s Secret products for a significant other (#datemattmcnamara).
